Florida law requires all couples to read the Family Law Handbook before applying for a marriage license. If you have not done so, please download a copy of the Florida Law Handbook in
Please note that completing this application does NOT begin the three-day waiting period. The three-day waiting period does not begin until after the couple comes together to the Clerk’s office and purchases the marriage license in person. Before beginning the marriage license application process, please complete the Acceptance Statement below.

At this time, the U.S Department of State has limited the applications that can be accepted by the Clerk & Comptroller’s Office.
If you are traveling in less than nine (9) weeks, you must call the National Passport Information Center within 14 calendar days of your scheduled travel (28 calendar days if foreign visa) at 1-877-487-2778 Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in order to make an appointment for passport services at a U.S. Department of State Passport Agency.
