County Comptroller

As the Comptroller, the Clerk acts as the County Treasurer, Auditor, and Finance Officer, providing a check and balance on the County’s budget, revenue, and expenditures.  The Comptroller’s office maintains financial records and prepares reports for all moneys received and disbursed for BOCC. The Clerk ensures the County’s financial assets are safeguarded and that all transactions are recorded properly to permit the preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

“The Clerk of the Circuit Court shall be Ex-Officio Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Auditor, Recorder and Custodian of all county funds.” -Article VIII, Section 1(d), Florida Constitution

As Accountant and Custodian of County Funds:

• Collects, custody, and disbursement of County funds.
• Provide accounting services to all departments under the Board of County Commissioners
• Provide financial reporting to the Board and all federal and state agencies
• Process accounts payable
• Process the county payroll
